In this vignette, Brody relates the story of a childhood family friend who was an expert on travel planning and uses this anecdote to introduce TripAdvisor.com as a modern system of planning travel and choosing a hotel. Brody points out how hotel reviews on TripAdvisor can often be contradictory or generated by the hotels themselves, and how housekeeping rarely enters into the narratives of these reviews.
