This chapter presents a fictional story about the problems related to the commercialization of academic research. A newly appointed president of a university announced a fund raising goal of $10 billion and resorted to fraudulent activities to attract funding. When it was found that the university fabricated reports of clinical trials based on nonexistent experimental subjects and several of the patents held by the university were challenged, the president was forced to resign.
