The Epilogue treats Strauss’s last essay, “Xenophon’s Anabasis,” as what Strauss called his “farewell to science.” It shows how Strauss indicated his own place in Platonic political philosophy as the thinker who recovered exotericism and with it the whole ancient and modern tradition of philosophy.
