(p.177) Leo Strauss Restatement on Xenophon's Hiero
On Tyranny
Victor Gourevitch, Michael S. Roth

This chapter presents Strauss' response to criticisms of his study of Xenophon's Hiero. These criticisms were written separately by Professor Eric Voegelin and M. Alexandre Kojève. Their main objection appears to be the conclusion that the classical concept of tyranny is too narrow and hence that the classical frame of reference must be radically modified, i.e., abandoned.
