José Antonio GonzálezKrueger Anne O.
University of Chicago Press

A conference was held at Stanford University's Center for Research on Economic Development and Policy Reform in November 2000, to assess the progress to date and analyze the need for further reforms with respect to macroeconomic policy and financial issues in Latin America. The contributions in this volume are revised versions of those presented at the conference, and they provide many examples of the need to continue to move the reform process forward and the manner in which to do so. This introductory chapter provides a brief discussion of macroeconomic reforms in Latin America, followed by an overview of the subsequent chapters.
